Frequently asked questions about Spec2Sign
Spec2Sign is a SaaS tool for functional acceptance testing: it uses AI to generate the acceptance test book from specifications, manages test execution and defect tracking, then produces an electronically signed acceptance report. Here are the answers to the most frequent questions.
Frequently asked questions
What is Spec2Sign?
Spec2Sign is a SaaS application for acceptance testing: it uses AI to turn your specifications (PDF, Word, Excel, Markdown) into a complete test book, manages test execution on desktop and mobile, tracks defects with Kanban and sprints, then produces an electronically signed acceptance report.
What happens when the specification changes?
You import the new version of the document. Spec2Sign compares the requirements, then proposes an impact analysis: test cases to add, modify or make obsolete. You accept or reject each proposal line by line, so the test book stays in sync with the specification without being rewritten.
Is Spec2Sign suitable for IT services firms and agencies?
Yes, they are the main target. Each client has their own projects, your clients' testers and approvers are invited for free, the AI assistant never mixes data from two projects, and the acceptance report is signed online by the provider and the client.
How do we migrate our test cases from TestRail, Xray, Zephyr or an Excel file?
Drop in the export from your previous tool (Excel, CSV, JSON or XML: TestRail, Xray, Zephyr, qTest, Squash TM, TestLink, Jira…). The AI recognises test cases and defects, sorts them into Spec2Sign's suites, modules and fields, then shows you an editable preview. Nothing is saved until you confirm.
How does syncing with Jira, Trello and Redmine work?
Each project connects to its tool with an access key. Defects created in Spec2Sign are sent there automatically; status changes and comments made in Jira or Trello come back within seconds, those from Redmine every 2 minutes. You choose the status mapping.
What is the Spec2Sign MCP server?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT view campaign progress and defect status, and update them if you allow it. Each person creates their own token, read-only or read and update, revocable at any time.
Can the AI assistant mix information from several projects?
No. A project's assistant only receives that project's data (test book, campaigns, defects, clarifications, acceptance reports), limited to what the person's role allows them to see. Conversations are specific to each project and each user.
Can we test on mobile, without a network?
Yes. Spec2Sign installs as an app on a phone or tablet. A campaign's tests are prepared offline; results, annotated photos and bug videos (3 minutes max.) sync when the network returns.
How does AI generate the test book?
AI breaks the specification down into requirements quoted word for word, proposes a plan of suites and modules, then writes test cases for each requirement with steps, expected result, priority and datasets. Each case stays linked to its source section.
Does the electronic signature of the acceptance report have evidential value?
Yes, it is a simple electronic signature: drawn handwritten signature, one-time code sent by email, timestamp, IP address and SHA-256 fingerprint of the document locked into the PDF.
Are my documents used to train AI?
No. Your documents are used only to produce your deliverables, are hosted in the European Union and can be deleted at any time, in compliance with the GDPR.
Which languages does Spec2Sign support?
The interface, emails and generated documents are available in French, English, Spanish, German and Italian. Each project chooses the language of its test books and acceptance reports, and an existing test book can be retranslated.
How much does Spec2Sign cost?
The Free plan lets you try one project, with 50 AI credits per month. The Pro plan costs €39 excl. VAT per creator per month, the Team plan €129 excl. VAT per month for 5 creators. Client testers and approvers are free and unlimited on paid plans.
